Being a psychic means embracing the possibility of being wrong. In this video, I dive into why the fear of inaccuracy, perfectionism, and overthinking can actually block your intuition. If you’ve ever doubted yourself as a psychic, this video will help you release the fear of perfection and give practical techniques for being more accurate!
Welcome! I’m Lauryn, a psychic development coach, here to guide you through how to tap into your intuitive abilities, whether you're just starting out or are a seasoned professional. In today’s video, we’re diving into one of the foundational principles of psychic work: why you need to be okay with being wrong.
The Pressure to Be Perfect
One of the most common struggles I see in my coaching sessions is the overwhelming need for perfection. Many people feel that they must get everything right in order to be a successful psychic or to trust the information they receive. But here’s the truth: you will be wrong sometimes, and that’s okay.
When you fixate on being perfect, it actually blocks your intuitive abilities. Fear of being wrong leads to nervousness, freezing up, and second-guessing yourself, which makes it harder to connect with your intuition. Instead of trusting your psychic abilities, you rely on your thoughts and ego, which only creates more uncertainty.
How Fear Blocks Intuition
Fear, anxiety, and perfectionism all interfere with your ability to receive psychic information. Just like how an intense emotional state can disrupt a dream, overwhelming feelings during a reading can block your intuition. Whether it’s fear of giving the wrong answer or worrying about a bad review, any strong emotion can cloud your ability to receive information.
To be a clearer channel for your intuition, it’s crucial to remain neutral and calm. When you’re grounded and centered, your intuition has space to flow freely.
The Myth of Being 100% Right
Let’s be honest: no one, in any field, is 100% accurate all the time. So why should we hold ourselves to that impossible standard as psychics? By accepting that being wrong is part of the process, we can create a relaxed space where intuition flows more easily. And when we embrace imperfection, it takes the pressure off our clients as well.
I tell my clients all the time, "I can be wrong," and this helps relieve anxiety, making it easier to trust the process and receive more accurate information.
How to Let Go of Perfectionism
The key to being a better psychic isn’t to try harder—it’s to relax and release the fear. Here are some practical tips to help you shift your mindset:
Affirmations: Remind yourself that it’s okay to be wrong. Use statements like, “I am psychic” or “I receive information easily and effortlessly.” Put them on sticky notes or set reminders on your phone.
Take Breaks: It’s okay to pause, breathe, and recenter if you feel stuck during a reading. Sometimes, walking away or shaking off the tension helps reset your energy.
Grounding Techniques: Before a reading, practice grounding and centering to get into the right state of mind. This will help reduce anxiety and help you stay connected to your intuitive flow.
Practice with Low Stakes: Play psychic games in your daily life—like guessing a billboard model's name or predicting the outcome of a random event. This helps reduce the need for validation and encourages you to be comfortable with not being right every time.

Are you afraid that your readings are going to be wrong? The answer is they’re going to be wrong, and you have to learn how to be okay with that. Welcome, everyone! My name is Lauryn, and I am a psychic development coach. I teach people how to use their psychic abilities, whether you’re a newbie or a seasoned professional. I love helping people understand their abilities and not be afraid of them.
In this video, we’re really talking about why you need to be okay with being wrong as a psychic. This is a foundational principle that I learned from my mentor. She always said, "Be willing to be wrong."
One of the problems I see often in my coaching sessions is that people feel like they need to be perfect. They think they need to get everything right in order to be a psychic or to read for someone else. But here's the thing—when we become perfectionistic about the information that’s coming through, we get nervous, freeze up, and sometimes our mind goes blank. We second-guess ourselves, lose confidence, and try to deliver information that comes out sounding more like a question.
To be more accurate as a psychic, you have to care less about being accurate. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t strive for accuracy, but it shouldn't be your main goal. Fear, anxiety, and the need to be perfect block your ability to receive psychic information. When you’re too caught up in fear, you start to rely on your thoughts instead of your intuition.
Any intense emotion—fear, worry, or frustration—can cloud your intuition. That’s why I always say not to read for anyone right after a breakup or loss. Strong emotions make it hard to receive or even listen to psychic information. Stay neutral before jumping into a reading, and know that fear and control hinder your abilities.
Psychics are not right 100% of the time. It’s nearly impossible in any field. For those of you who are holding yourself to that ridiculous standard, here’s what I want you to think about: If you accept that it’s okay to be wrong, you can tell your clients the same thing. I tell my clients this all the time—I can be wrong—and suddenly the pressure is lifted. It makes reading easier and more accurate.
To be more accurate, you need to be okay with being wrong. The more you relax and release tension, the easier it is to tap into your intuition. Taking the pressure off is difficult—it’s counterintuitive to everything we’ve been taught. But the more centered, grounded, and neutral you are, the more accurate your readings will be.
So, some practical steps for letting go of perfectionism:
Affirm that you are psychic. Use affirmations like, "I am psychic. I receive information easily and effortlessly."
Take breaks when you’re stuck during a reading. It’s okay to walk away, take a deep breath, and reset.
Practice grounding techniques before a reading to calm your mind.
Practice psychic games in your daily life to reduce the pressure of needing to be right.
If you’re struggling with being perfect, it might help to dive into why you feel the need to be right. Psychics often carry perfectionistic tendencies, but it’s important to recognize that it’s okay to be wrong.
I also suggest reading for others—it can help reduce anxiety around always being right. And remember, don’t hyperfixate on being perfect. Worry less, receive more.
